GARRETT HAS GRADUATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS!!!!

I couldn’t be happier for Garrett graduating from the University of Texas with his Corporate Communications Degree, with a Business Foundations Certificate. It’s such an exciting time in his life as he starts this new chapter. It was refreshing to hear that Garrett truly enjoyed his years spent attending UT.

People often ask me what my favorite part of working with graduates is… That’s easy to answer! The energy seniors have for and throughout their sessions is so contagious. It really does make the photoshoot that much more fun. I love getting to capture such a joyous and important milestone in a senior’s life. College is a fantastic experience; it’s always scary when you’re about to finish and be done with it. However, it’s beyond exciting getting to figure out the next steps in your life… Finding somewhere to live, getting a job, meeting new people.

Working with Garrett was great. He’s truly a wonderful person; so polite, fun, friendly, and hilarious. It was easy to work with him and even to help him with posing. When he mentioned having a dog that’s been his roommate at College for the past couple of years, I instantly asked if he could bring her on campus too! Dogs are part of the family as well, after all. She really was a gem! Though she was super excited for all the new smells and people walking by; who could blame her.

It was fantastic getting to know a bit more about Garrett as we were walking through the campus. Hearing how he already has a job lined up for the new year was such great news! After graduation, but before starting his new job, he’s getting to sneak away to Europe to experience some beautiful new places. I too took a Europe trip after my business degree; I was so happy to hear he was going to have this opportunity for himself. Getting to visit and experience so many different cultures, places, and types of people is extraordinary.

When Garrett said he had a change of clothes I didn’t realize it was for getting into the fountain! He got changed, brought out two bottles of champagne and we were ready to capture some epic shots. I honestly could not think of a better way to end a session! Best graduation tradition, ever…

Garrett, thank you for asking me to be a part of capturing this spectacular time in your life. I hope that you enjoy being able to look back on all these photos and have loads of great memories that come flooding back to you. Kelly, Garrett’s mum, who is the absolute best, thank you so much for arranging this and driving out to the campus to be a part of it. You are absolutely amazing. You have raised a true gentleman who is about to go into the world and make something of himself. I’m sure to say that you’re proud of him is a vast understatement. The relationship you two have is beautiful. I loved getting to have you be a part of some photos with him; this was your journey as well after all. So happy that you both made it to the end! :)
