MKP COVID-19 Update | Austin, Texas

Hello MKP Family!

There is a lot of fast pace changes happening at this time. I know so many of you, like me, are unsure of what next week will bring. We’re all just trying to keep up on what we’re instructed to do including staying home, keeping a social distance, washing our hands, etc.

I try to keep this space positive always for you all and want to do the same with this post!

At this time, while it saddens me to do this, I am tentatively postponing my upcoming sessions a few weeks out for the well-being of everyone. Depending on the city’s restrictions put in place at that time, this may be extended further out. My client’s and my own health has always been a top priority especially as I work primarily with kids and expecting mamas. Until we have a better idea of a time-line for everything going on locally, I think this is in everyone’s best interest.

If you’re interested in booking a session with me in the future, I am happy to discuss availability. At this time for new bookings, I am not requiring a deposit to reserve a future date as I know many of us are without income at this time. Once things settle down I will send emails out to these clients regarding their deposits, and moving forward.

For all my sessions that are already booked in, and have paid, if you have to postpone for any reason, you will NOT be penalized. All deposits will be transferred to another date! You should have all received an email from me either yesterday or today.

Some easy ways to help small businesses like mine, and other’s are:
– Take this time at home to write up reviews for these companies. (Google, Yelp and Facebook!)
– Buy gift cards for future use! (I have always offered these, and would love to be a part of a special occasion in the future for a family member!)
– Comment support on their social media posts letting them know that their clientele will still be with them after the quarantine!

Things that I will be working on during this time:
1. Building and fully releasing my PRINT SHOP! Yes, that’s right, soon you will all be able to buy my landscape, nature, and animal photos from me for your home, office, or as gifts! The prices cover the cost of the print itself, plus some commission for my work. I would appreciate if anyone is able to share this link with family and friends; every little bit helps. Excited and nervous to share with you all the other type of work I have been doing for years. As most of you know, I’m a lover of nature and animals. These are shots I have taken for fun as I have traveled and lived all over the world. They’re special memories of beautiful places, things and animals.

2. My website remodel that I had planned for release this summer! I have a lot to do before this will be complete, but I’m excited to have the time to work on it.

3. I am offering my past clients to have their galleries re-uploaded so that they are able to order prints directly to their home that they didn’t have the time to go through and do before. :) Please email me if you’d like to take advantage of this!

4. A lot of backdated blog posts that I didn’t have time to share with you all, will be getting completed finally. The links will be posted on my Facebook page as they go live!

5. Keeping my social media posts fun, bright, and happy with photos from past sessions that I have not shared on there yet.

6. Continue brainstorming more new and fun photoshoot ideas for the future. I cannot wait to be able to be back behind the camera. I already have custom props on the way that I cannot wait to share with you all. I have teamed up with an amazing woman locally and we’re so excited! Forever supporting other small businesses ;)

Trust me, this was not an easy decision… I already miss all my clients and their little munchkins so much!

As many of you know, this is my career – my only source of income. Making this decision before it being mandatory was to help the movement of staying home; to keep everyone safe! It wasn’t an easy choice to make by any means, but I truly hope you all understand.

The photo I shared at the beginning of this post is a fun photo of one of my pups loving the bluebonnets last year. Hoping this all passes quickly so that I can still offer bluebonnet minis in April for you all, in this same luscious field. Fingers crossed!
