Simon Family | Cedar Park, Texas

I couldn’t be more excited to share this beautiful family session with you all.

Oliver and Emilia were the cutest kiddos ever. They have been staying safe inside during COVID lockdown; getting to be out at a park was extra exciting for them. It was adorable seeing Emilia wave to everyone passing by as we walked through the park. Oliver’s favorite part was being near the water. He couldn’t wait to throw some rocks with his dad.

Jon and Cristy are truly the sweetest couple! I enjoyed getting to see their bond with one another and with Oliver and Emilia. Their love for one another, between all four of them was beautiful to see. One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to see and capture moments between family members.

Having this photoshoot be more of family time for them together with lots of exploring, tickling, snuggles and rock skipping is what it’s all about. I always want kids to have fun during a session, especially if they’re more shy. I rather the session and photos flow naturally rather than trying to force a certain ‘pose’.

Emilia definitely looks up to her big brother and wants to be a part of everything he does. It is sincerely one of the sweetest sibling relationships I’ve seen.

I wanted to make sure we took a few moments for Cristy and Jon to have some photos of just the two of them. So many parents are focused on capturing those milestone memories of their kiddos that they forget to take some time for themselves too. These are their milestones as well though, and they deserve to be celebrated as parents! It was extremely sweet to get them to snuggle into one another and take a few photos together.

Simon family, thank you for asking me to be a part of capturing all these memories for you to look back on. I hope you love and cherish them for many years to come. You have such a beautiful family, inside and out, and it was a pleasure getting to meet you all! I look forward to getting to see and photograph Oliver and Emilia as they continue to grow.

Pallavi’s Horse Portrait Session | Austin, Texas

Are you ready to gush over the love between a girl and a horse? This session is stunning, start to finish. It was extremely difficult to choose only a few images to include here.

Pallavi has been competing and loving Leo for the past year now. It’s easy to see why she fell in love with Leo. He has so much personality and love to give. Pallavi wanted to book a session to showcase their bond and time together in photos. I sincerely couldn’t have been more excited!

When you’re asked to be a part of a session that you can connect with on a personal level, that of course makes it extra special. Several years ago I used to compete and ride. It was some of the best years of my life and still to this day something I enjoy greatly. Being responsible for taking care of such an incredible animal and training to compete is a great thing to be involved in. It wasn’t hard to see that Pallavi has a lot of passion for horses and competing. Connecting with the horse you are riding is extremely important and these two were great together.

Leo was happy to pose for the camera, as long as he was bribed with his favorite treat… Peppermints. He’s such a social horse and just wanted to get to stand nearby all his girlfriends. Watching him fall asleep being so relaxed being face to face with Pallavi was probably my favorite moment. He was so content to have her hand on his face; as they stood there for a few photos, he started to close his eyes. Being a part of sweet moments like these are what makes me love my job that much more.

Getting to collaborate on ideas with Pallavi for this session was amazing. I loved all of her ideas! We were actually on the same page before even sharing our ideas with each other. By booking extra time with me she got to showcase so much variety in outfits, location and poses. Working with animals always takes a little extra time but it’s worth every second.

Pallavi, thank you for asking me to be a part of capturing these special memories for you to look back on and cherish for many years to come. Leo is such a beautiful soul. I’m so glad that you were able to have this year together. Getting to meet and work with you, Leo and your Mum was fantastic. I can’t wait to see what you continue to achieve in the coming years. I look forward to doing more sessions with you in the future!

Tyler Mallet Headshots | Cedar Park, Texas

Introducing Tyler Mallet – a personal coach for teachers, school leaders, and district executives!

When Tyler reached out to me about booking headshots for his new company I was extremely excited. He recently made a career move, leaving his corporate job to start his own independent consulting business. Tyler’s new business focuses around consulting and coaching his clients around some of the stress they experience at work.

With Tyler being a stress coach said that he immediately fell in love with my natural light style because he described my portraits as having a calm, soothing feel. He wanted professional corporate headshot that were taken outdoors instead of in a studio.

During planning this session, Tyler let me know that his vision for these included clean, modern architecture in the background. We had a different location in mind initially, however in the end the location we went to worked out even better. There was nature as well as the modern architecture that he wanted. The huge glass windows, modern brick, and clean landscaping really made it the perfect location for these.

Tyler didn’t just want headshots though; he also needed photos of him in a work setting. He had a great suggestion of using his favorite coffee shop, (where he actually goes several times per week to work and enjoy their fantastic Americanos), Black Sugar Caffe. It was the perfect place to capture Tyler working in his element. The staff are amazing, the environment is inviting, cozy and bright all at the same time. Here is where we finished the session with him answering emails and taking phone calls. All while still enjoying his Americano of course.

Now that his website is live I am so happy to finally be able to write this blog and share these awesome images with you all. His website has loads of great information on how he coaches his clients and what he offers.

Learning more about Tyler’s coaching company and how he came about to moving forward with opening his business now was really inspiring. He is an amazing person to work with and talk to. He sincerely has passion for his work and his clients. I feel honored to have been a part of this for him and to have met him.

Tyler, thank you so much for reaching out to me and asking me to be a part of bringing your vision to life. I really think our styles work so well together. I sincerely loved working with you and capturing so many awesome shots for you to use. I’m so excited to watch your company successfully grow! I look forward to working with you again in the future.

Olivia’s Smash Cake Session | Cedar Park, Texas

    Olivia turned one!!!

When Themy reached out wanting to book Olivia’s first birthday session I couldn’t have been more excited; especially when she mentioned wanting to do some family portraits all together as well. I love doing a bit of both during birthday sessions as it’s such a fun milestone.

As Themy and I started planning out the session via email I knew it was going to come together beautifully. Wanting to incorporate lemons and water into the session was a perfect way to celebrate a summer birthday!

At first, Olivia wasn’t quite sure how she felt about photos but soon started giggling and playing peek-a-boo behind the lemons. Getting to bring out a child’s true personality is always the goal, even if it takes a little bit for them to feel comfortable.

Cat is such a great big sister! She wanted to snuggle up to Olivia on the blanket with all the lemons but was so patient to wait her turn to join in. In the meantime, she was a great little assistant getting Olivia to giggle by making funny faces next to me. Getting siblings to help during sessions is always a great idea. They typically react really well with being silly and happy together.

Some kids are not sure what to do with their cake when it comes time for these sessions. I always mention for parents to do a little ‘trial run’ at home beforehand even with a cupcake. This is a great way to help them get used to the idea and texture before the day of the photoshoot. However, Olivia was not by any means confused or unsure of what to do. She was beyond happy to destroy her cake. All of us couldn’t stop laughing, she was too adorable! I don’t think I’ve seen a kid more intent on legitimately smashing the cake. Cat was mostly concerned with if she was able to try some at the end, if there was any left… Who could blame her?!

Miller family, thank you so much for asking me to a part of this gorgeous, fun milestone in your family’s life. You four are truly beautiful inside and out. Getting to meet and work with you all was truly the best way to spend an afternoon. I’m so glad you loved the park and that you had so much fun. Your girls are the sweetest. I hope to get to work with you all again in the future so I can watch and capture memories for you as they grow.
