Shenk Maternity Session | Austin, Texas

I couldn’t be happier for the Shenk family! They are very excited to finally get to hold and meet their little girl.

Planning this session with Ashley was a lot of fun. She mentioned that she wanted to do an outfit change. I was excited to find out that the second dress was a little extra formal. I absolutely love both dresses she chose and what Peter wore. I think they both looked fantastic in all of these images.

Honestly, the best part of this session was the chemistry between Ashley and Peter. I love meeting and working with couples who continuously make one another laugh. These two were not short on love for one another, or laughs to share together.

The images we captured during this session are without a doubt some of my new favorite maternity session photos. We got such a beautiful evening for their session. It was an added bonus to have the park mostly to ourselves.

When their little girl arrives, I have the honor of photographing her newborn session! I cannot wait to meet her and capture some of her very first images. I’m so excited, I can’t wait for her to arrive!

Peter and Ashley, thank you so much for asking me to be a part of this incredible time in your life. You both are beautiful people, inside and out. I look forward to seeing you again soon. It was an honor being a part of this milestone for you both and I cannot wait to meet your precious little girl.

Happy Halloween! | Round Rock, Texas

    Happy Halloween everyone!

Every year, Karah and I try to come up with a new fun idea for a Halloween photoshoot. This year it was Red Riding Hood! We didn’t have much of a ‘wolf’ like looking dog to use, but my pups were happy to volunteer for the job. They did their best.

Last year’s photoshoot was a lot of fun, and it was hard to top it. I absolutely loved last year’s session. It was a lot of fun to plan and shoot. This year we got really stormy weather which I was actually excited about. The clouds were the perfect touch for this session and really added a bit of ‘drama’ to the photos in a sense.

Karah looked amazing! I loved how it all came together with the dress and cape. We even sourced out a basket for her to have apples in and give it that extra touch. Karma was more interested in the apples than anything else.

We decided to shoot the first half at a new park I hadn’t used before. It worked out perfectly for the forest type look we were aiming for. We then went to a nearby field that I have used in the past. It was perfect for that stormy sky as I mentioned and we got some really neat shots.

Karah, thanks for helping brainstorm ideas with me for this year’s session and making it all come to life as always. You’re loads of fun to work with and I can’t wait to start planning next year’s session already!

Leigh’s Smash Cake Session | Austin, Texas

      Leigh is ONE!

I absolutely loved getting to meet and work with this beautiful family. It was a lot of fun being a part of capturing this milestone for their beautiful daughter.

We actually did this session on Leigh’s actual birthday which I don’t think I have ever done before. She got to spend her birthday evening exploring a new park, snuggling with both her parents, eating cake… What better way to celebrate a first birthday?

The Cook family was sincerely so very sweet and I enjoyed every minute of this session with them. I love this park and was really happy when they decided to use it for their photoshoot. It can be a bit of walking, but getting to the water and having the variety we got was worth it.

Leigh loved being by the water and getting to pick flowers in the field. She was the happiest little one, it was all giggles and smiles throughout the session. Seeing her laugh at Travis and Taylor as they made funny noises and faces for her was the best.

Getting to plan this with Taylor was a lot of fun. I love that she brought a cupcake and all the other adorable props that made it so sweet and personal for them.

I love smash cake sessions! I think it’s always a great time to get photos with your kiddos and to let them be kids at the end with their cake (or cupcake)! It’s such a fun age and they change so quickly.

Whenever I photograph smash cake sessions, I always encourage the parents (and siblings) to get in photos as well. It’s fun to snuggle up together and have beautiful portraits of everyone all together to look back on.

Travis and Taylor, thank you so much for asking me to be a part of capturing these beautiful memories for your family. I hope you love and cherish them as much as I enjoyed being a part of photographing them for you. I look forward to working with you all. in the future!

Evans’ Family Photoshoot | Indian Springs Ranch, Texas

      Suzannah is ONE!!

I’ve done quite a lot of birthday photoshoots for kiddos, especially first birthdays. However, THIS birthday session is one of my top favorites – without a doubt.

Cows, buffalos, kangaroos, zebras, a camel – oh my!

What better way to celebrate a first birthday than being surrounded by beautiful animals who are so very loved.

I don’t know how many kiddos would have been THIS happy to be surrounded by such big animals they’ve never seen this close-up before. Suzannah was having the time of her life though.

The amazing people at Indian Springs Ranch were fantastic! They were there throughout the session helping with the animals and letting us feed them. These animals were so happy to have visitors and natural models, as you can see.

Suzannah really loved Taylor who was such a great help throughout at getting her to giggle for photos when all she wanted to do was be distracted by all the fun grass around her. :)

When Jenn reached out to me and told me where she wanted to do these photos at I was so excited. I had never heard of this beautiful place before but I am always up for something new (especially when it involves animals)!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got there, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. This was nothing like anywhere else I’ve ever been before and I loved how free the animals were to roam the property (safely). You could tell they were well loved and it was nothing short of a spectacular evening. All we did was laugh, have fun, get to pet all these amazing creatures. I even got cow kisses, which it’s been a few years since I’ve had those!

We planned this far in advance and I was so happy that the weather held up for us! It was a little touch and go on the way there and earlier in the afternoon. In a way, we were happy to get some cloudy skies not only because it turned out GORGEOUS in these photos, but it gave such beautiful even light throughout the entire session all over the property.

Getting to finally meet and work with the Evans family was a dream. They were loads of fun and it was a fantastic experience. I love meeting new clients and feeling as though I have known them for ages.

Jenn explained that she looked at a lot of photographer’s websites when wanting to book this session for her daughter. It was truly an honor when she said that she felt as though I was the right fit for their family. I always want everyone to find their perfect fit in a photographer because I think that connection is so important.

John and Jenn are so sweet together and Suzannah was more than happy to snuggle with both of them in photos. I thought they all looked amazing! There’s something so special to me, still, about capturing the bond between kids and their parents. Getting to see the Evans family together, with so much love for one another was very sweet.

It was lots of fun getting to capture these amazing moments that you can’t really ‘pose’ the animals for. It was a new challenge for me in the best way possible. All the animals at Indian Springs Ranch were the best. It was almost as if they knew how to pose in the background perfectly, haha.

Evans family, I really hope these images are everything you dreamed of and more. I am completely obsessed with your entire gallery! You have so many stunning images and I cannot wait for you to see them all. Your family is so beautiful, inside and out. It was an honor to be a part of this beautiful milestone in your daughter’s life.
